Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2026

On 20 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Bangladesh, particularly in the economic aspect. The Minister underscored the importance of advancing negotiations on a Thailand-Bangladesh Free Trade Agreement, as well as promoting port connectivity between Ranong and Chittagong. In addition, both sides also exchanged views on regional issues.
