Traffic to be limited or rerouted at Tecumseh between Flood and 24th NW on September 17, 2026

Prepare for westbound travel impacts

The City of Norman is coordinating an emergency repair project on Tecumseh Road between Flood Avenue and 24th Avenue NW following a recent roadway issue.

Beginning at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday, September 17, travelers can expect intermittent westbound lane closures in the area as crews prepare for a semi-permanent repair. Crews expect to have all lanes reopened in time to accommodate for rush hour traffic at 5 p.m. Then, beginning at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday evening, all westbound lanes of Tecumseh Road between 24th Avenue NW and Flood Avenue will be closed for approximately four hours while crews implement the semi-permanent repair.

Travelers are encouraged to plan for additional travel time or utilize alternate routes while the work is underway.
