Burglary Task Force Seeks Help ID Suspect Who Broke Into Downtown Restaurant

The Portland Police Bureau Burglary Task Force is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect who stole items and damaged property of a restaurant in Downtown Portland.

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 6:11 a.m., the suspect broke into the Hana Sushi Restaurant at 506 Southwest 6th Avenue, stole cash and property, and caused additional property damage. The suspect was last seen going southbound on Southwest 6th Avenue. PPB is a victim-centered police agency and typically does not identify crime victims, including businesses, however the business owner agreed to have the name released for this case.

Efforts to identify the suspect have so far not been successful. The multiagency Burglary Task Force is asking for help from the public identifying this suspect and any information about where he might be.

The suspect is identified as a Caucasian male, approximately 5'9", 30-40 years of age, wearing a dark in color New Balance Jacket, blueish-gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, dark blue jeans or sweatpants, black and white athletic shoes, and carrying a black Adidas brand backpack.

The Burglary Task Force is a collaboration between the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, Gresham Police Department, Port of Portland Police Department, Transit Police Division, and the Portland Police Bureau. The task force includes two deputy district attorneys and a data analyst from the district attorney's office, one sheriff's office detective, one officer each from the Port of Portland, the Gresham Police Department, and three investigators, a sergeant and an investigative crime analyst from the Portland Police Bureau.
