LOS ANGELES (May 19, 2026) - The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement in response to the Los Angeles City Council delaying the implementation of the Living Wage Ordinance:
"Los Angeles thrives when its businesses and workers succeed together. The Chamber has consistently called for responsible policy that sustains jobs and helps families thrive, and today's decision by the City Council proves that kind of compromise is possible. When the city brings everyone to the table, real solutions follow. This means workers receive meaningful wage growth, businesses are provided the time to implement, and Los Angeles moves forward together. That is a good outcome for all of us, especially as we prepare to welcome the world this summer and in 2028. The Chamber will always stand behind policy that protects jobs and ensures our city is prosperous for everyone who calls it home."
