Pianist, composer Tigran Hamasyan plays Dallas Morse Coors Concert Series

The Dallas Morse Coors Concert Series at Cornell University welcomes Tigran Hamasyan: Manifeste to Bailey Hall for a performance on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Celebrated pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan presents "Manifeste,"
a sonic statement infusing the deep spiritual traditions of his Armenian
heritage throughout. Released on Feb. 6 via Naïve Records, the album marks a
new chapter for one of the most visionary artists working at the intersection
of jazz, progressive rock, and global music. Recorded between 2023 and 2025
across studios in Yerevan, Athens, Moscow, Los Angeles, and beyond, "Manifeste" emerges as both a deeply personal declaration and a vivid portrait of seeking, the joy of creation, and spiritual transformation. Following his acclaimed 2024 double album "The Bird of a Thousand Voices," Hamasyan continues his fearless artistic exploration with a work that unfolds in ritual sequence.

Born in Gyumri, Armenia, in 1987, he began playing piano at age 3, won the Montreux Jazz Festival piano competition at 16, and released his debut album at 17. He later won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition and has since released a wide range of acclaimed albums across major international labels. Hamasyan has earned numerous international awards and widespread critical praise, along with admiration from artists such as Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau and the late Chick Corea.
