Beginning July 1, the City of Tucson's Environmental Services Department will implement updated service rates for residential and commercial customers, landfill disposal tipping fees, and a new Clean City Fee.
These adjustments will help support daily services, maintain current operations, invest in new equipment, and continue programs.
Environmental Services is a self-supported enterprise funded through customer service and landfill fees, not the City's General Fund. The updated rates are based on findings from the department's Cost of Service Study and reflect increasing operational costs, including:
A new $3 monthly Clean City Fee will be added to Environmental Services customer bills beginning July 1.
The Clean City Fee will help fund citywide cleanup efforts, including:
Residential Environmental Services rates help fund a wide range of services that Tucson residents rely on every day, including:
Updated landfill disposal rates and tipping fees will also take effect July 1. These changes help support continued operation and long-term management of the Los Reales Sustainability Campus, including environmental compliance, site maintenance, equipment operations, and future needs.
