New SignVideo service helps BSL users connect with Worcestershire County Council

SignVideo is a Video Relay Service (VRS) that connects a resident whose first language is BSL with a qualified BSL interpreter via a secure video platform.

The interpreter then calls the relevant county council service and facilitates the conversation between the resident and the County Council member of staff.

Which services can be contacted?

Residents can currently use SignVideo to contact:

• Customer Services - the main contact for Worcestershire County Council
• The Adult Front Door - support for adults 18 years and older
• The Family Front Door - support for children 0 to 18 and their families
• The Emergency Duty Team for Adults and Children's Social Care - support for emergencies where an adult or child is at risk of harm and which cannot wait until the next working day.
