PPL Foundation awards $500,000 to support community vitality across eastern and central Pennsylvania

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 4, 2025) - The PPL Foundation has awarded $500,000 in Empowering Communities Grants to support more than 60 nonprofit organizations dedicated to strengthening communities across eastern and central Pennsylvania.

These grants will help fund programs that promote environmental stewardship, expand access to critical needs, and drive economic and workforce development - addressing some of the most pressing needs in the region.

"Across our communities, nonprofit organizations are doing incredible work - helping families access fresh food and safe housing, supporting small businesses, protecting our environment, and opening doors to career pathways," said Lissette Santana, president of the PPL Foundation. "We're proud to stand alongside these organizations and invest in their efforts to make our communities more resilient and sustainable."

The grants will support initiatives throughout PPL Electric Utilities' 29-county service area, reflecting the foundation's commitment to uplifting the places where we live and work.

Looking ahead, the PPL Foundation's next round of funding - Energizing Education Grants - will focus on creating equitable, high-quality learning experiences for students. These grants support programs in STEM education, literacy, summer learning, and college and career readiness. The application window opened on Aug. 1 and will remain open through Sept. 15.
