Alstom will deliver signalling solutions in the Łódź high-speed tunnel in Poland

  • The long-distance tunnel in Łódź is a key element of the emerging High-Speed Rail infrastructure in Poland.

  • The so called "Y" route will connect Warsaw and the new national airport with Łódź, and in the future will also link Warsaw with Poznań and Wrocław, significantly shortening travel times between agglomerations.

  • Alstom will leverage its global expertise to lead the installation of advanced railway traffic control systems.

10 March 2026 - Alstom, a global leader in intelligent and sustainable mobility, has signed a contract with PORR for the execution of works related to the installation of railway traffic control devices in the newly constructed long-distance tunnel in Łódź. The investment is a key part of railway line no. 85, that is, the railway "Y", which by 2032 will connect Warsaw and the new national airport (being built as part of the Port Polska programme by CPK) with Łódź, and in 2035 will enable the launch of the fastest High-Speed Rail connections to Wrocław and Poznań.
