U.S. Senator Katie Britt Directly Secures $434,700 for J.F. Ingram State Technical College, Celebrates National Community College Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, recently directly secured $434,700 for J.F. Ingram State Technical College in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations Act. This funding will support workforce training. In total, Senator Britt directly secured more than $5.74 million for the Alabama Community College System in FY26 appropriations funding.

In light of the U.S. Department of Education recognizing April as National Community College Month and her leadership across the state to support Alabama's community colleges, Senator Britt issued the following statement:

"I'm honored to join our state and nation in recognizing our incredible community colleges this April. The $434,700 in funding I was proud to directly secure for J.F. Ingram State Technical College will benefit not just the students, faculty, and staff on campus, but also Perry County and the surrounding communities. This is exactly the investment federal taxpayer dollars should make-empowering our students and preparing the next generation of leaders. I remain a dedicated partner and champion of Alabama's Community College System, and I look forward to seeing how this funding strengthens the J.F. Ingram State campus and programs driving tomorrow's workforce."

"Senator Katie Britt's leadership in securing critical funding reflects her deep commitment to investing in the people of our state," said Jimmy Baker, Chancellor of the Alabama Community College System. "Because of her investment in the Alabama Community College System, Senator Britt is helping make life better for Alabamians through the transformative opportunities our community colleges provide."
