India, August 2026 - In a recent PCQuest feature, Xoriant's Chief Transformation Officer, Vineet Moroney, shared insights on how continuous authorization and unified identity signals can strengthen security decisions after authentication.
The article explains that authentication is only the beginning of the security process. Identity providers establish who a user is, while policy decision and enforcement points determine what that identity should be allowed to do under current conditions.
Programming interfaces, including the application programming interface (API) layer, connect these decisions across applications, networks, cloud services, data, and security architecture.
It highlights how short-lived tokens, continuous reassessment, and event-driven controls can reduce exposure by prompting new access decisions when endpoint health, location, privilege use, or behavior changes. It also examines how unusual combinations can provide stronger evidence than any single event.
Moroney remarked, "Effective Zero Trust requires identity signals from IAM, device posture, endpoint telemetry, workloads, and threat intelligence to be unified through a central policy engine that scores them into a single, real-time risk decision at the point of access."
