Secretary-General of ASEAN speaks at Asia House in London

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 10 February 2026, spoke at a roundtable discussion organised by Asia House in London, on the sidelines of his working visit to the United Kingdom. Under the theme of "ASEAN Regionalism in the Evolving Geopolitical Landscape," SG Dr. Kao discussed how ASEAN Regionalism has defined ASEAN Community-building through the years, including ASEAN's external relations. He also highlighted ASEAN's resilience and strategic balance in navigating geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges through dialogue and inclusive cooperation. SG Dr. Kao also underscored the growing ASEAN-U.K. economic cooperation in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.
