Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Attends the Reception Commemorating the 36th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Namibia

On March 21, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu, upon invitation, attended the reception commemorating the 36th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Namibia held by the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia, and met with Ambassador of the Republic of Namibia to China Tonata Itenge-Emvula.

Miao Deyu extended congratulations on Namibia's Independence Day, stating that the traditional friendship between China and Namibia is deep and has stood the test of changing international dynamics, remaining as solid as a rock. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, the China-Namibia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has deepened, significantly benefiting the peoples of both nations. China is willing to carry forward the traditional friendship with Namibia, jointly pursue development, and contribute to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era and promoting unity and collaboration among the Global South.

Emvula stated that China's Two Sessions have recently concluded successfully, and Namibia extends its warm congratulations. Namibia values the traditional friendship between the two countries based on mutual respect and shared vision, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and sincerely thanks China for its valuable support to Namibia's national liberation and socio-economic development. Namibia stands ready to work with China to strengthen the bond of friendship, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation, and share a prosperous future.
