Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southeast Regional Office (SERO) has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Greg and Donica Jerue

PROJECT NAME: ADL 109509

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:

Juneau, Alaska; more specifically adjacent to the property addressed 4499 River Road Juneau, Alaska 99801, approximately 2.8-miles north of the Juneau International Airport.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

C040S066E18; Township 40 South, Range 66 East, Section 18, Copper River Meridian.

Approximate coordinates: 58.3938 N, 134.5859 W

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:

DMLW received an application from Greg and Donica Jerue (applicant) on September 8th, 2023, within the 2023 Emergency Declaration issued by Governor Dunleavy, for the installation and maintenance of riprap armored rock for riverbank stabilization, repair, and erosion control along the bank of the Mendenhall River, adjacent to 4499 River Road.

The following standard construction equipment will be used and not limited to backhoes, excavators, skid loaders, dump trucks, pickup trucks, and cranes. Organics to be encountered at the project site include but are not limited to stumps, logs, sand, dirt, mud, and rock. Additional backfill materials include shot rock, gravel, and sand. The bank stabilization project will encompass approximately 0.28 acres of state-owned land.

This is a notice of application for development within an existing easement. Comments are not solicited.

After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
