07/29/2026 - Apply Now: Youth Climate Action Grants Available

Apply Now for Youth Climate Action Grants

The City is offering $5,000 grants to youth teams to create and carry out projects that advance Olympia's climate goals. Applications are now open and will close on September 15. We are looking for innovative project ideas to support during the 2026-27 school year.

Project teams should be made up of two or more young people (ages 15-24) and the project should serve the Olympia community. Each team must have a sponsor organization to apply.

Need ideas or looking for teammates? Join us at the Harbor House on August 27, from 4-6 p.m. for a brainstorm session where we will come up with project ideas, and meet potential teammates and sponsor organizations.

Selected projects will focus on one of the key priority areas:
  1. Sustainable Transportation: Projects that help people choose alternatives to driving (e.g., biking, riding public transit)
  2. Waste Reduction and Circular Economy: Projects that help reduce waste or encourage reuse of materials.
  3. Community Action and Stewardship: Projects that increase energy efficiency, disaster preparedness, environmental protection, or raise awareness of climate change and impacts.
Ready to bring your climate project idea to life? Apply now!
