Three projects awarded in east-central Georgia

Tennille, Ga. - The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded contracts for three new projects in east-central Georgia. Please note, start dates for these projects have not been set yet.

In Morgan and Greene counties, I-20 will be resurfaced beginning near SR 83/Exit 113 and extending west of SR 44/Exit 130. Pittman Construction Company has been awarded this $12.46 million project. Completion is estimated for fall 2026.

In Morgan County, SR 12/Main St. in the City of Madison will be resurfaced. East Coast Grading, Inc. has been awarded a $1.17 million project to resurface approximately 2.26 miles of SR 12, beginning east of Walker Circle and extending west of US 441 Bypass. Completion is estimated for fall 2026.

In Laurens and Treutlen counties, Massana Construction, Inc. has been awarded a $951 thousand project to rehabilitate seven bridges at various locations in both counties. In Laurens County, bridges on SR 257 over Stitchihatchie Creek, SR 257 over Turkey Creek, SR 257 over Turkey Creek Overflow, SR 338 over Turkey Creek, and SR 338 over Rocky Creek will be rehabilitated. In Treutlen County, bridges on US 221/SR 56 over Pendleton Creek and SR 199 over Mercer Creek will be rehabilitated. Completion is expected by summer 2027.
