Vietnam: Vietnam suspends Decree 46 on Food Safety

On February 4, 2026, the Government of Vietnam suspended the implementation of Decree 46 on Food Safety until April 15, 2026, following significant disruptions to trade resulting from its abrupt enforcement. During this suspension period, Decree 15 has been reinstated to facilitate the continued trade of food and agricultural products. This report provides an update on the situation as Vietnamese authorities proceed with the review and assessment of potential amendments to Decree 46.
