CONCORD, NH - This week, Governor Kelly Ayotte signed the following bills into law:

HB 59 - Relative to the assault of a firefighter, emergency medical care provider, or law enforcement officer.

HB 126 - Relative to prescriptions for certain controlled drugs.

HB 348 - Relative to eligibility for local assistance.

HB 365 - Relative to proof of United States citizenship for indigent voters.

HB 649 - Relative to the maintenance of motor vehicle operators.

HB 1113 - Enabling towns to establish a 3-year term for town moderators.

HB 1118 - Increasing the limit for monies remitted to municipal treasurers.

HB 1151 - Relative to conservation commission appropriations.

HB 1157 - Relative to licensure as a pet vendor.

HB 1161 - Removing the requirement for municipalities to have an advisory board for development districts.

HB 1175 - Relative to the offense of use of scanning device or reencoder to defraud.

HB 1190 - Enabling the Division of Motor Vehicles to create a temporary traditional driver's license for youth operators about to turn 21 and relative to fleet vehicle registration requirements.

HB 1696 - Relative to the issue of a summons instead of arrest.

Governor Ayotte vetoed the following bill:

HB 221 - Enabling electric utilities to own, operate, and offer advanced nuclear resources, and relative to purchased power agreements for electric distribution utilities and limitations on community customer generators.
The Governor's veto statement for HB 221 is below:
"I have questions about the impact of this legislation. I understand that this language is also attached to another bill scheduled for a conference committee and will work with the conference committee in an effort to reach an outcome that is protective of ratepayers.
"For the reasons stated above, I have vetoed House Bill 221."
