ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center Recognized for Clinical Excellence in Patient Satisfaction and Wound Healing Rates

Paintsville, KY - Physicians, leaders, and clinicians at Paintsville ARH Hospital are proud to announce that ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center has been awarded the prestigious Center of Distinction award by HealogicsĀ®, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Wound Healing Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional care and dedication demonstrated by the Center's physicians, leaders, and clinicians.

"Being recognized as a Center of Distinction for 6 consecutive years is something very special and it's because of every single person on our wound care team. These doctors, nurses and support staff show up every day committed and with a heart for our patients," comments ARH Paintsville Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kathy Stumbo. Stumbo went on to say that when at least nine out of 10 patients say they are satisfied with their care, that tells you everything you need to know about the kind of people that work at the Wound Healing Center.

The ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds.

Advanced wound care modalities provided by our wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help accelerate wound healing.

ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center Charles Hardin, MD, praised his staff, saying, "This award is not just a plaque on the wall; it's proof that our patients are getting some of the best wound care in the country. To meet Healogics tough standards six years in a row, our team has had to be excellent every single day. I am so proud of each member of our staff who works hard, keeps their skills up to date and never loses sight of helping people heal."

About Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH)
Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) traces its roots back to 1955, when the United Mine Workers of America opened the Miners Memorial Hospital system - a network of 10 hospitals dedicated to providing care throughout the coalfields of eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia. Seventy years later, ARH has grown into a 14-hospital not-for-profit health system that serves more than 500,000 residents of central Appalachia each year. ARH hospitals in Barbourville, Harlan, Hazard, Hyden, Martin, McDowell, Middlesboro, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, West Liberty, Whitesburg, and South Williamson in Kentucky, and Beckley and Hinton in West Virginia, ensure that residents, tucked away in even the most remote areas, can access the highest quality of care without traveling hours from home. ARH's hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty physician practices, home health agencies, home medical equipment stores, retail pharmacies, and medical spas boast more than 6,700 employees with a network of more than 1,300 providers, making it the single largest employer in southeastern Kentucky and the third-largest private employer in southern West Virginia.
