On March 3, 2026, the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission adopted regulations in Title 20 Chapter 25 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations dealing with carbon storage as it relates to Class VI wells and establishing a new Class VI Underground Injection Control program for Alaska.
The regulations were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor on March 19, 2026, and are effective on April 18, 2026. Attached is a copy of the filed regulations.
The regulation changes will first appear in Register 258, July 2026, of the Alaska Administrative Code.
