Premier Urges House Committee to Advance Policies that Unleash Transformative Potential of AI

Premier submitted a statement for the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade hearing titled, "AI Regulation and the Future of US Leadership." Premier expressed appreciation for the committee's leadership and ongoing commitment to exploring thoughtful regulations that unleashes the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) while maintaining the efficacy, accuracy and transparency necessary to protect end users, including patients. To achieve these dual objectives, Premier encouraged the committee to consider:
- The value of potential AI use cases in healthcare, including applications in clinical settings, drug development and manufacturing, and healthcare supply chain operations;
- The need for a national privacy law to maintain competitiveness and innovation in the development of AI; and
- The vital importance of US AI leadership to the security of tech stacks in critical infrastructure, including healthcare.
