Day 33 of the Schumer-Gallego-Kelly Shutdown

This week marked one full month of the government shutdown. Once again, Democrats, including Arizona Democrat Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly, for the thirteenth time this week, voted against reopening the federal government.

What have been the consequences of the monthlong Democrat Shutdown, you ask? Great question! Approximately 42 million Americans will be denied SNAP benefits, including 900,000 Arizonans. More than 20,000 flights were canceled or delayed this week, and two million Americans didn't receive a paycheck.

Let me debunk a few of the lies constantly being spread by the Fake News and leftists about the Democrat Shutdown.

Lie #1: Republicans control all three branches of the government, and they don't need Democrats to end the shutdown.

Truth: Republicans in the House of Representatives did our job by passing a clean funding bill over a month ago. However, for a bill to pass in the Senate, there is a 60-vote threshold and Republicans control just 53 seats. Meaning seven Democrats are needed to join all Republicans and vote in favor of opening the government. Instead, all but three Democrats have now voted thirteen times against reopening the government. Receipts :

Lie #2: The Democrat Shutdown is not about illegal aliens getting healthcare.

Truth: According to section 2141 of the Democrats' proposalto open the government, they are insisting on a provision that would give illegals access to free healthcare. As Vice President JD Vance recently said, "It's not something that we made up. It's not a talking point. It is in the text of the bill that they gave to us to reopen the government." What's in the Democrats' proposal, you ask? Another great question! Their proposal would result in nearly $200 billion spent on healthcare for illegals and other non-citizens over the next decade. It gets worse. The proposal would also allow those improperly granted asylum and parole under Biden's open borders scheme to receive Medicaid and it would require Medicaid to paymore for emergency care provided to illegal aliens than it does for American patients who are disabled, elderly, or children. Want to know more? The Democrats' proposal would allow California to continue exploiting a loophole to fund Medicaid for illegal aliens and it would reinstate a special Obamacare subsidy for non-citizens - for which low-income American citizens are not eligible. In fact, this week the Trump administration announced it is planning to claw back over $1 billion in federal Medicaid dollars that are being spent in Democrat-run states including California, Illinois, Washington, Colorado and Oregonand Washington, D.C. on healthcare for illegal aliens, including some with violent criminal records for murder and rape. More about this below.

The bottom-line is don't believe their bull. The truth is that nothing is more shameful than Democrats using the American people's pain and suffering as leverage for their radical agenda. Democrat Congresswoman Emilia Sykes even recently admitted it by noting "We know that people are going to suffer if we don't open the government… And I'm just going to make it as plain as possible: people will go hungry." Democrats have voted 13 TIMES to shut down the government and are proud of it. Sickening. It's time they stop playing politics with the American people's lives and livelihoods.

Dr. Oz Confirms Medicaid is Rife with Fraud by Illegal Aliens

Dr. Oz recently held a press conference this week where he revealed some shocking truths regarding the findings of an audit from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS). As I noted above, the preliminary report identified over $1 billion in federal Medicaid payments to illegal aliens. Dr. Oz emphasized that federal law prohibits Medicaid eligibility for illegal aliens, yet state and local practices have been funding illegal aliens through "loopholes." Such loopholes allow Medicaid dollars to be used by states for so-called "emergency treatment" regardless of a patient's citizenship or immigration status. In other words, total fraud and waste on the American taxpayer. It also encourages illegal aliens to come to our country illegally as they seek all types of social welfare benefits.

Given the magnitude of these findings, Dr. Oz argues that the federal government and states must crack down on the existing verification, enforcement, and data-matching protocols to ensure that Medicaid funds reach the vulnerable Americans the program was designed to serve. Every dollar spent on an illegal alien is a theft of services to Americans who lawfully qualify for the benefits.

It bears repeating: Democrats are demanding continued funding of healthcare for illegal aliens as a condition for reopening the government. This is the reason the federal government has been shut down for 33 days.
