New Student Snapshot: Jay Wisenhunt

Injuries are one of the most discouraging things that can happen to any athlete. But TLU freshman Jay Wisenhunt was actually inspired by one back in high school.

"I tore my ACL during football practice, which actually deepened my interest in healthcare and athletic training," the future kinesiologist said. One day, that painful experience will be turned into an opportunity to help others.

Jay was drawn to TLU for its welcoming community, small class sizes, and the strong support system in place for students. "I also really love the campus and the opportunities it offers to grow academically and personally," he said.

During his high school years, Jay was on the math team, the robotics team, and was a member of HOSA club for future health professionals. He also prioritizes volunteer work. "Beyond school, I've been involved in community service and giving back has been a meaningful part of my journey," he said.

Jay is ready to get his first year of college underway. "I'm most looking forward to meeting new people, building lifelong friendships, and getting hands-on experience in athletic training," he said. "I'm also excited for the student life and to really experience what it's like living on campus."

TLU is thrilled to have Jay as a new member of the Bulldog community!
