Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Hours and Services
City of Garland offices, utility customer service and tax offices, recreation centers and Carver Senior Center, and libraries will be closed for the Christmas holiday Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26. These facilities will reopen Saturday, Dec. 27. These facilities will also be closed Thursday, Jan. 1, for the New Year holiday. All facilities will return to normal schedules Friday, Jan. 2.
The Recycling Center and Transfer Station will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26. The landfill will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25. Thursday trash, recycling, brush and bulky collection routes will move to Friday, Dec. 26. Friday trash, recycling, brush and bulky collection routes will move to Saturday, Dec. 27.

More details regarding trash pickup are available at GarlandTX.gov. Residents may place Christmas trees, free of lights, ornaments and other decorations, for curbside pickup along with other brush and bulky items on their designated collection day.
Firewheel Golf Park will be open until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, and until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31. Firewheel Golf Park will be closed Thursdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
