Dairyland Power Donates $2,000 to Support the Harmony Conservation Club

Dairyland Power Cooperative and the Harmony Conservation Club held a check presentation on Friday, Oct. 30, in recognition of Dairyland's $2,000 donation to the club's Shelter Rebuilding Project in Harmony, Minn.

The new shelter, now complete, replaces the club's previous structure, which was torn down due to deterioration of materials and unsafe conditions. It is the latest in a series of improvements the club has made to its site over the years, and it gives members and guests who use the shooting range a safer place to gather, with shade and shelter from the weather.

"As a wholesale power cooperative, our mission extends beyond providing safe and reliable energy. We are committed to making a positive difference and enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve," said Dairyland President and CEO Brent Ridge. "Donations like this help support youth, recreation and opportunities for people to come together. The club's added commitment to conservation made this donation especially rewarding."

Club members are grateful for the support. "We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to Dairyland Power for their donation," said Club President Keith McIntosh. "The condition of our previous shelter created safety concerns for the club and guests. This donation helped ensure we can continue to make improvements to the safety and usability of our spaces."

The Harmony Conservation Club is a member-supported outdoor shooting facility located in Harmony, Minn. The club provides a safe, well-maintained range for pistol, rifle, trap and archery shooting, while supporting youth programs, such as the Fillmore Central Trap Team and conservation efforts in Southeast Minnesota.
