UFG Insurance is pleased to announce that Amber Thomas has been appointed vice president (VP) of internal audit, effective September 24, 2025. In this role, Thomas will be responsible for leading the company's internal audit function to drive strong risk management and governance, collaborating closely with the audit committee of the UFG board of directors. Thomas joins UFG with over 13 years of internal audit, financial reporting and public accounting experience, most recently serving as controller and deputy chief accounting officer for an insurance company based in Des Moines. Other positions she has held include VP, chief audit executive and VP, internal controls. "We are excited to welcome Amber to our team and confident in her ability to successfully lead our internal audit function," said UFG Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer Eric Martin. "Her extensive experience, deep technical expertise and strong analytical skills make her ideally suited for this key role." Thomas holds both a bachelor's degree and MBA from Drake University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
