City to Relocate Doorway Project to Pomona Park for Fall/Winter

The City of Greensboro will begin moving its Doorway Project from the former Regency Inn site at 2701 N. O'Henry Blvd. to Pomona Park at 3912 Clifton Rd. the last week of October. Comprised of 30, two-person pallet homes and five RV sleeping trailers, the Doorway Project provides people experiencing homelessness with temporary shelter and services to help them find permanent housing.

Begun in December 2022, the Doorway Project is the first temporary shelter community in North Carolina. The City's Community Safety Department provides funding, planning, and oversight of the Doorway Project and contracts onsite services, such as case management administered by the Interactive Resource Center.

The Community Safety Department oversees several initiatives throughout Greensboro that provide resources for people experiencing homelessness. For more information, visit https://www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/community-safety/homelessness-services.
