Spokane police officers responded to the area of 4100 N Calispel St around 12:45am on June 29th. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunshots in the area. Some callers reported seeing a group of people running as well as vehicles fleeing the area. On-duty officers relayed over the radio they also heard the gunshots.

Officers quickly arrived and located several shell casings in the street, along with evidence of there being a victim. Officers gathered witness statements and canvassed the area for surveillance footage and further evidence, while additional officers established a perimeter for a K9 track.

Just after 1:00am a local hospital nurse called 911 and informed them a juvenile had arrived at the location with gunshot wounds. Officers went to the location and contacted the victim and an additional witness. SPD's Major Crimes Unit (MCU) was notified and responded. MCU and SPD's Gun Crime Unit (GCU) have taken over the investigation.

At this time, this incident is still under investigation. It appeared this was an isolated event as the involved people seemed known to one another. There is no immediate threat to the general public.
