Forrester names McKinsey a ‘Leader’ in Digital Transformation Services

September 9, 2025 McKinsey & Company has been recognized as a 'Leader'-the highest designation possible-in The Forrester Wave™: Digital Transformation Services, Q3 2025 report. Forrester, a leading market research company, evaluated a dozen providers against criteria across three dimensions: strategy, capabilities, and customer experience.

"We are honored by this recognition, which builds on more than 30 years of investment in technology across our firm to help our clients create, capture, and deliver value with AI," says Alex Singla, a McKinsey senior partner who co-leads QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey.

Our firm's approach to digital transformation-known as "Rewired" -is composed of six elements that are critical to successful digital and AI transformations. While deep technical capabilities are essential to our formula, strategy, talent, and the ability to adopt and scale are just as critical for organizations to get the full value from tech and AI.

[McKinsey's] technology and data architecture capabilities stand out with sophisticated diagnostics and continuous 'AI future state' design across verticals.

Forrester noted in its report that: "McKinsey has a clear strategy for its transformation offering: It predicts basic tech skills will commoditize and client demand will shift from tech implementation to value flow reinvention. Its talent strategy focuses on tech talent with senior management credibility, while all staff are upskilled in AI. Its above-par innovation pipeline invests in codifying domain expertise in AI solutions and augmenting consultant delivery via internal accelerators and data assets."

Additionally, McKinsey was also recognized for above-average customer feedback. As one client told Forrester: "McKinsey is not shy to challenge us, and its staff is more interested in finding the truth than in being right."

Forrester's report also underscored our firm's ability to help clients build capabilities to sustain their success: "McKinsey offers superior capabilities in business strategy consulting and business model innovation, both of which are supported by dedicated accelerator assets. Its technology and data architecture capabilities stand out with sophisticated diagnostics and continuous 'AI future state' design across verticals. McKinsey's rigorous focus on value identification and tracking is manifested in one of the deepest portfolios of proprietary data assets in this assessment."

"We don't just help clients implement technology," says Rob Levin, McKinsey senior partner and leader of our Rewired service line, "we partner with them to rethink what's possible when AI isn't just another tool in the box, but a powerful catalyst for rewiring how businesses operate end to end."

As McKinsey's AI arm, QuantumBlack supports the "rewiring" strategy by providing the AI and data infrastructure, including code, required for a full digital transformation. Together with McKinsey Business Building and McKinsey Technology, our firm pairs strategic insight and industry knowledge with technical expertise to help clients across our sector and capabilities areas move beyond pilots to integrate technology into their core and get true value from tech.

As fast-moving innovations continue to transform the technology landscape, our firm remains focused on partnering with clients to transform their organizations-and industries. Alex says: "With 100 years of domain expertise, we help clients harness the power of AI not just to improve today's performance but to reimagine tomorrow's possibilities."
