Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain,, held an interactive session with members of the Pakistani business community in Sharjah. The event was organized by the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Sharjah to strengthen engagement between the Government of Pakistan and overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs.
H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, along with senior officers of the Pakistan Consulate, also attended the session. The business community was represented by the President and Senior Vice President of PBC Sharjah, as well as prominent Pakistani businessmen, investors, and professionals based in Sharjah.
The session featured an open discussion, during which participants shared their views and raised questions on issues related to overseas Pakistanis' welfare, protection of workers' rights, facilitation of expatriates, skills development, and employment opportunities. Members also sought clarity on policy reforms and service delivery mechanisms of the Ministry.
Responding to the queries, the Federal Minister briefed the participants on the Ministry's ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at improving welfare services for overseas Pakistanis, strengthening institutional coordination, and ensuring better protection and facilitation for Pakistani workers abroad. He reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan's commitment to engaging with the overseas Pakistani community and acknowledged their vital contribution to the national economy.
The Consul General appreciated the role of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah in promoting economic engagement, and reiterated the Consulate's continued support to overseas Pakistanis and the business community in the UAE.
The session concluded with the shared resolve to further strengthen cooperation between the Government of Pakistan, and the Pakistani business community in the UAE for the collective welfare and prosperity of Pakistan.
