Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Meets with Outgoing Ambassador of Tanzania to China and Incoming Minister of Finance Khamis Mussa Omar

On December 11, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with the outgoing Ambassador of Tanzania to China and incoming Minister of Finance Khamis Mussa Omar at the latter's request.

Miao Deyu said that in recent years, the two heads of state have met multiple times, guiding and promoting the comprehensive and in-depth development of China-Tanzania relations. China is ready to work with the new Tanzanian government to deliver on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, strengthen the synergy of the two countries' development strategies, actively implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, jointly advance the revitalization of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) and build the TAZARA Railway prosperity belt, and promote the China-Tanzania comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.

Khamis Mussa Omar said that Tanzania attaches great importance to its relations with China, firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and is willing to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges with China, learn from China's experience in state governance, and consolidate political mutual trust. Tanzania is ready to take the opportunity of revitalizing the TAZARA Railway and building the TAZARA Railway prosperity belt to deepen and expand bilateral practical cooperation, and promote greater development of Tanzania-China relations.
