During the 2025 Regular Session, the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 557 which amended the Uniform Money Services Act (UMSA) to add fraud protections for users of virtual currency kiosks in Arkansas. The Arkansas Securities Department (ASD) administers the UMSA and is using the law to protect Arkansans from the proliferation of virtual currency kiosk frauds, whenever possible. To inform the general public of this new law, the ASD has created a flyer containing important information about consumer rights and remedies for kiosk users. The flyer may be accessed on the ASD website at the following link: https://securities.arkansas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Virtual-Currency-Kiosk-Flyer.pdf.
If you suspect you or someone you know is a victim of a scam involving a virtual currency (Bitcoin) kiosk, please call the ASD immediately at (800) 981-4429. The ASD urges Arkansans to use caution in all financial matters, including the use of virtual currency kiosks.
