QUANZHOU, May 22 -- The China Coast Guard (CCG) successfully hosted the Working-Level Meeting of the 22nd Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM) in Quanzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province, from May 18 to 21, 2026.

More than 80 representatives attended the meeting. They included delegates from maritime law enforcement agencies of 16 countries and regions, such as Australia, Bahrain, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam, as well as representatives from two international organizations: the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP-ISC). Officials from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport, and the CCG were also in attendance. Additionally, representatives from the maritime law enforcement agencies of the UK and New Zealand attended the meeting as observers.

This meeting aimed to build consensus and lay a solid foundation for the high-level meeting later this year. It is learned that the High-Level Meeting of the 22nd HACGAM will be held in Hangzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province, in September.
