Scott Leber has been the face of high school sports in Rockford and the surrounding communities since coming to Illinois from Ohio in 1989.
He started as a reporter and anchor for WTVO in Rockford in 1989 and rose to become the TV stations sports director in 1995. In 2005, he also took over handling sports for WQRF, in addition to WTVO. Scott is a trusted voice in the region who works tirelessly to cover as many games and tell as many stories as possible.
Scott was honored with the IHSA Distinguished Media Service Award at halftime of the Stillman valley rivalry girls basketball game against Byron on February 5, 2026.
Leber was nominated for the award by both schools and their respective athletic directors presented him with the award, alongside IHSA Associate Executive Director Tracie Henry, who Leber covered when she was a three-sport athlete at Stillman Valley.
