TexasBank Awarded $136,000 in Scholarships

TexasBank has announced a record $136,000 in scholarships to 76 graduating high school seniors and college students in Parker County as part of its continuing commitment to see local students achieve their dreams through higher education.


The scholarship monies set a new record for the bank over the past many years of scholarship giving. The scholarships are awarded in close cooperation with the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation. TexasBank has given more than $1.3 million in scholarships over the past 13 years.


"The board and ownership of TexasBank are committed to the education of our future leaders," said Greg Dodds, President, and CEO of TexasBank. "We believe that by investing in students today, we are investing in the prosperity and growth of our communities for generations to come."


"We believe strongly in the value of higher education and trust the schools to create criteria to award this scholarship to the most deserving students," said LV Coffee, TexasBank Central Texas President. We also value the
relationships we make with these kids and hope we can be a guiding financial partner throughout their adult life," added Coffee.


In addition to Howard Payne University ($25,000), Tarleton University ($25,000) and TSTC ($5,000), benefiting educational institutions include high schools throughout the TexasBank trade area. Locally, recipient students from Erath and Eastland Counties school districts including Bluffdale, Dublin, Eastland, Huckaby, Lingleville, Stephenville, and Threeway. A reception was held at TexasBank May 9 to celebrate the awards with students and their parents.
