WASHINGTON D.C. - Support for Congressman Abe Hamadeh's (AZ-8) legislation to honor Charlie Kirk's legacy with the creation of a U.S. Treasury commemorative coin is growing.
The legislation, officially introduced on Friday, September 26, 2025, by Congressman Hamadeh and Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11), directs the U.S. Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins with the likeness of Charlie Kirk, a conservative icon who was assassinated by a leftist radical. The coin will feature an engraving of the verse: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Original cosponsors for the Charlie Kirk Commemorative Coin Actinclude Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13), who got her political start with Turning Point U.S.A., a popular conservative student group founded by Charlie, and Representatives Don Bacon (NE-02), Jack Bergman (MI-01), Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Earl "Buddy" Carter (GA-01), Michael Collins Jr. (GA-10), Mike Flood (NE-01), Harriet Hageman (WY-AL), Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), Erin Houchin (IN-09), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), Addison McDowell (NC-06), John McGuire (VA-05), Jimmy Patronis (FL-01), Michael A. Rulli (OH-06), and William Timmons IV (SC-04).
Students for Life Action enthusiastically endorsed the coin as well. "Students for Life of America worked closely with my dear friend Charlie Kirk to defend Life, Faith, and Family. Charlie was a hero for the preborn children and for America. Students for Life of America strongly supports the Charlie Kirk Commemorative Coin Act. If this bill were to pass, it would be a beautiful way to remember Charlie. There are many American heroes on our U.S. coins, and Charlie has more than earned it to be remembered in this way, just like our founding fathers," stated Kristan Hawkins, President, Students for Life of America & Students for Life Action.
"I said it before and I will say it again; Charlie Kirk was an American treasure, so it only makes sense to create a treasured commemorative coin in his honor," stated Congressman Hamadeh. "My hope is that when this coin is passed down through generations of patriots, Charlie's story is retold. A story of a young man who displayed courageous faith in his Creator, a willingness to engage in open debate without rancor or invective, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and the greatest country on Earth. I want to once again thank Chairman Pfluger for joining me in offering this small token of our appreciation for Charlie's sacrifice."
"Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation's greatest leaders and influential figures," said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11). "This commemorative coin will make Charlie the youngest American ever immortalized on legal U.S. currency, a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic. Through his leadership of Turning Point USA and relentless advocacy for American values, Charlie built a movement whose torch we will proudly carry forward to defend our nation's core principles for generations to come."
BACKGROUND:
If passed and enacted into law, Charlie Kirk will be the youngest individual to ever be immortalized on legal U.S. currency, joining historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Susan B. Anthony, and Jackie Robinson. The coins will be minted at no cost to the taxpayer, and the final design will be approved by President Trump himself.
