Marion County Files Complaint For Injunction Regarding the Dunnellon Railroad Tie Site

Marion County follows through on its commitment to residents and files a complaint for an injunction to preserve the county's rights should progress in removing the railroad ties and cleaning up of the Dunnellon site stall.

The injunction is a protective legal remedy intended to ensure the county can act swiftly if necessary. County officials remain hopeful that recent strides to remove the railroad ties and remediate the site will continue and lead to an amicable resolution.

However, railroad ties remain on the property one month after the Feb. 1 fire, and the county is taking these steps to safeguard the community's health, safety, and environmental interests.

Marion County continues to monitor the site closely and will provide updates as appropriate. Additional information is available at MarionFL.org/DunnellonFire.
