Construction at the intersection of East 91st Street and South Riverside Drive has finished ahead of schedule, and all lanes are now open to traffic.
As part of the intersection improvement project, crews completed full pavement replacement, built on a compacted 12-inch foundation to strengthen the roadway surface, and drainage improvements to better manage stormwater runoff. These enhancements are designed to extend the life of the roadway and support the nearly 30,000 vehicles that travel through the intersection each day.
Lanes will remain open until Monday, July 8, when short-term lane closures will be required to complete final lane striping.
