Season 4 Midcycle Takes You To The BlizzCon Stage!

We're taking another drive and getting ready to bring the community together at BlizzCon.

So, if you want to tackle Team Drives or just need to know where to watch the World Cup and a bunch of Overwatch voice actors roll dice together, here's your scoop!

But first, we've got a special message from our Game Director, Aaron Keller:

Hi, everyone. I have a quick update on Unvaulted Passes.

When we introduced the Battle Pass Revamp, we said that Unvaulted Passes would arrive with the Season 4 midseason update. However, we've decided to push Unvaulting to the start of Season 5 give our amazing QA team extra time to test it as thoroughly as possible. No one likes bugs, and we want to do everything we can to ensure this long-desired feature is as bug free as possible when finally available to you all.

We know this is a highly requested feature and something many of you were looking forward to this season (let's be honest, people have been looking forward to it for a while!).

The good news is that Unvaulted Passes are still coming, and we'll have more details on how they'll fully work ahead of Season 5. But for now, we hope you are all enjoying the current Battle Pass Revamp while getting hyped for BlizzCon 2026!

Let's make a great game!

- Aaron

Team Drives

Team Drives are back today, September 4. So, finish your competitive placements to participate, then queue solo or bring your friends and find a team that clicks as you climb the Gladiator Ranks together through September 6.

Overwatch, Together Again at BlizzCon

It's time to get together!

BlizzCon 2026 happens September 12-13, and we're filling the weekend with Overwatch. There'll be plenty to follow across both days whether you're joining us in person or watching from your couch (considerably shorter lines).

BlizzCon 2026 will be livestreamed free, including the Opening Ceremony, major panels, esports, and other programming. Tune into the official Overwatch and Overwatch Esports channels on Twitch and YouTube to follow along from home.

Overwatch:

OW Esports:

The Opening Ceremony kicks things off with a look at what's ahead, and the weekend keeps rolling from there with developer programming, playable experiences, music, live competition, and plenty of opportunities to spend time with the people who make and play Overwatch.

There are rewards for watching, too. Tune into participating YouTube and Twitch streams for eligible drops throughout the weekend. If you're attending in person, link your BlizzCon Pass to your Battle.net Account by September 14, 2026 to receive eligible rewards from the show!

The World Cup Takes the Stage

The Overwatch World Cup has been building toward this all year, and at BlizzCon, the fight finally reaches its biggest stage.

After conferences from around the world battled their way through the competition and fans spent the lead-up making plenty of noise for the teams they love, the remaining contenders meet at BlizzCon to decide who gets to take the title home.

Expect the best Overwatch in the world with an arena full of people ready to lose their voices over it.

Spend Some Time with Team 4

We spend a lot of time talking at you through blogs, patch notes, Director's Takes, videos, and whatever else we can get our hands into. But BlizzCon gives us the much more fun option of actually sitting down together.

Throughout the weekend, members of Team 4 will take the stage for developer panels and programming digging deeper into Overwatch, the work behind it, and the things we're excited to share with you.

Keep an eye on the full BlizzCon panel schedule so you know when and where to find us.

Roll for Heroics and Make a Wish© in QuestWatch

And then there's QuestWatch. Forget team comps; this fight calls for character sheets!

For the first time, we're taking Overwatch to the table for a live TTRPG one-shot on the BlizzCon main stage. Matt Mercer steps into the Game Master role as Cassidy, guiding a party featuring Sombra (Carolina Ravassa), Symmetra (Anjali Bhimani), Reinhardt (Darin DePaul), and Vendetta (Chiara Preziosi) through a completely original, non-canon adventure taking place in the QuestWatch fantasy setting.

The story was written by Matt in partnership with the Overwatch Narrative team, with support from Darrington Press and the team behind the Daggerheart tabletop system. And it comes complete with custom game cards and player sheets.

Which means, for once, that saving the day may depend less on team composition and more on whether Reinhardt can roll above a five.

Tune in live at BlizzCon September 13, starting at 12 pm PT! Then stick around as the party rolls for something bigger...

Following the show, we're kicking off a charity auction supporting Make-A-Wish©, featuring one-of-a-kind pieces made by and alongside members of Team 4. That includes custom miniatures hand-painted by Art Director Dion Rogers, a full gameboard modeled after Grimsvotn, a custom GM screen, signed key art posters, collectibles, and more. The auction will begin during QuestWatch on Day 2 and remain open afterward, giving everyone a chance to support a cause that means a great deal to this team.

So come watch us reveal what happens when some very familiar Heroes trade cooldowns for critical checks and put their fate in the hands of the dice.

What could possibly go wrong? We'll roll to find out!

There's a lot happening between now and the end of Season 4, but that's kind of the point. Take on Team Drives then come spend BlizzCon weekend watching incredible Overwatch panels, hanging out with Team 4, cheering on the World Cup, rolling some dice, and celebrating this weird, wonderful world together.

We'll see you in-game and at BlizzCon, Heroes!
