CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi has opened a second overnight Cold Weather Refuge Center for those needing food and a warm place to stay. The Center is at the Del Mar College-West Campus FEMA dome, located at 4101 Old Brownsville Road. It will remain open around the clock through Friday, January 24 or until the "feels-like" temperature rises above 32 degrees.
The Cold Weather Refuge Center located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway continues to operate but is near capacity. The City is providing meals, and The Salvation Army is providing snacks and drinks at both locations.
The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) continues providing free transportation to and from the Cold Weather Refuge Centers through 11:00 p.m.
Riders can take Route 16 from the N. Staples Street bus station across from City Hall to the front door of the Del Mar College-West Campus FEMA dome.
