Molina Healthcare of Illinois Expands Provider Network to include Advocate Health Care

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Nov. 13, 2024 - Molina Healthcare of Illinois ("Molina") announced a new relationship with Advocate Health Care, significantly expanding the network of providers available to members enrolled in the Health Insurance Marketplace plan. The relationship offers members access to an additional 11 hospitals and more than 250 area sites of care in the Chicagoland area."This expansion underscores Molina's commitment to delivering comprehensive, high-quality medical services to our members, right in their own communities," said Matt Wolf, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Illinois. "Promoting health equity for Illinoisans is at the core of our work. Now, Molina members will have the option to select from thousands more clinicians near their neighborhoods, increasing member choice and making it easier to access health care services."
In Illinois, 89 out of 102 counties are experiencing health professional shortages, disproportionately affecting low-income residents. Due to these shortages, patients are forced to wait longer to see a doctor and receive critical care.
By expanding relationships with valued providers, Molina aims to bridge gaps in care for under-resourced populations and help improve health outcomes throughout the state. Under this arrangement, members will have access to over 6,300 physicians and specialists, plus 11,000 nurses, offering medical, holistic, emotional, and spiritual care.
