Former Fiscal Officer for the Village of Corning in Perry County Ordered to Pay Restitution of $15,901.53

COLUMBUS - The former fiscal officer for the Village of Corning in Perry County was ordered to pay $15,901.53 following her conviction on theft and other counts.

Abby Fralick also received three years of community control and will have to complete 100 hours of community service after she pleaded guilty to felony counts of theft in office and telecommunications fraud and a misdemeanor count of soliciting or accepting improper compensation.

She's also barred from public office as part of her sentence, which was handed down Thursday in Perry County Common Pleas Court.

The Auditor of State's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) launched an investigation after receiving allegations of potential criminal activity involving Fralick, a former Corning Village Council member who served as fiscal officer from June 2022 through November 2023.

SIU identified more than six dozen fraudulent transactions involving village checks, fuel charges, and other misappropriations by Fralick.

Fralick was indicted in May 2026 and submitted her guilty pleas in July in Perry County Common Pleas Court.

Since 2019, the Special Investigations Unit has assisted in 167 convictions resulting in more than $17.9 million in restitution (see Map of SIU Convictions since January 2019).
