Jim Robb will deliver the keynote address on August 12 at Basin Electric's 2026 Annual Meeting of the Membership.
Robb is the president and chief executive officer of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), where he leads the organization responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of the bulk power system across North America. In this role, he guides industrywide efforts related to reliability standards, system performance, security preparedness, and long-term grid resilience.
Since joining the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) Enterprise in 2013, Robb has led both regional and North American-wide efforts to strengthen grid performance. Before his tenure at NERC and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council, he spent more than three decades in the energy sector as an engineer, consultant, and senior executive, including leadership roles at Northeast Utilities, Reliant Energy, and McKinsey & Company. His career has spanned work on electric system evolution, cybersecurity, natural gas-electric interdependence, and the integration of emerging generation technologies.
With more than three decades of experience in engineering, consulting, and executive leadership, Robb is a sought-after speaker on the future of the grid and the operational and security challenges facing the energy sector.
