Rothwell Duck Decoy Collection Featured in January Auction

A distinguished collection of historic duck decoys from the Bill Rothwell Collection is currently featured in the American Sporting Auctions Winter Feature Decoy and Sporting Art Auction, which closes on January 24.

The collection reflects the shared interests of Bill Rothwell and the late Janet Brown '54 Rothwell, whose longstanding connection to Muskingum University shaped both their appreciation for the arts and their commitment to education. Select pieces from the collection were previously displayed on campus as part of Ducks! The Art and History of the Decoy, an exhibition that highlighted the artistic craftsmanship, cultural significance, and conservation history associated with traditional waterfowl decoys. The decoys offered in this auction are clearly identified as Bill Rothwell Ducks and appear in lots 259-275.
