The Elgin Sustainability Commission (ESC) is offering grants of up to $1,500 to support sustainability-focused projects, events and programs that benefit the city of Elgin. TheSustainable Elgin Community Grant aims to encourage community-led initiatives that reduce environmental impact, promote resilience and enhance local sustainability efforts.
Projects should align with Elgin's Sustainability Action Plan, working to lower greenhouse gas emissions, protect natural resources and engage residents in environmental stewardship. Funded initiatives must take place within Elgin and include a community education or resident engagement component.
The grant is open to Elgin residents, neighborhood groups, nonprofits, businesses and other local organizations. Whether through conservation projects, renewable energy efforts, waste reduction programs or sustainability education, this funding helps bring innovative ideas to life.
