We the People

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Throughout my life, as both a soldier in the Army and Representative in Congress, I have fought to protect and defend the words and ideals of the U.S. Constitution, taking multiple oaths to protect it at all costs. I'm mindful of that oath every single day, especially during Constitution Week.

This week, I encourage all of us to reflect on what it means to be constantly striving for that more perfect Union. It means that each day that we wake up under 50 stars and 13 red and white stripes, we have the opportunity to make today better than yesterday.

It's an honor to serve you here in Congress, and I promise that as your Representative, I'll work every day to honor my oath to uphold the Constitution.
