Waverly, IA - The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently recognized four local organizations through ribbon cuttings, First Dollar Awards, and Progress Awards. Honorees included Beyond Behavior Autism Services, Waverly-Shell Rock Area United Way, Elevated Designs and All-Star Construction, and Waverly Utilities with Sandhills Energy.
The Ambassadors met with CEO Alyssa Hennings and clinic staff to hold a ribbon cutting and present a First Dollar Award in celebration of Beyond Behavior Autism Services opening a location in Waverly. Beyond Behavior Autism Services provides specialized support for individuals with autism through individualized therapy and behavioral health services designed to promote growth, independence, and meaningful skill development. The new Waverly location expands access to these important services for local families, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and caregivers. This opening represents a valuable addition to the community's network of health and developmental resources.
The Ambassadors met with director Jill Krall and board members to present a Progress Award in celebration of the Waverly-Shell Rock Area United Way 's 75th anniversary. United Way has served the community for decades by bringing people and resources together to address critical needs, strengthen local programs, and support individuals and families across the region. Through collaborative partnerships and community-driven initiatives, United Way continues to make a lasting impact in areas such as education, financial stability, and health. This milestone recognizes 75 years of service, generosity, and commitment to improving quality of life throughout the community.
The Ambassadors met with Elevated Designs owner Faith Toulouse and All-Star Construction owner James Toulouse to hold a ribbon cutting and present a First Dollar Award in celebration of the father-daughter duo's new shared space at 201 E. Bremer Ave. Elevated Designs offers creative design services focused on helping clients bring their visions to life through thoughtful, customized solutions. All-Star Construction provides residential and commercial construction services, with a focus on quality craftsmanship and dependable project execution. Together, the shared space reflects a unique family partnership that brings creativity and construction expertise under one roof, strengthening the local business community.
The Ambassadors met with Waverly Utilities and Sandhills Energy staff to present a Progress Award in celebration of the completion of the new 3.6-megawatt solar generation facility. Located just west of Waverly on Highway 3 near the IRUA tower on approximately 24 utility-owned acres, the state-of-the-art facility is expected to generate up to 6.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually for Waverly Utilities customers. The project will produce an estimated 5 percent of the utility's electricity needs while doubling its renewable energy portfolio. The new facility represents an important investment in renewable energy and the continued advancement of sustainable utility services for the community. This project reflects Waverly Utilities' commitment to innovation, efficiency, and dependable utility service for Waverly residents and businesses.
