VNR: Championship trophy tour kicks off at UH Mānoa; visits to other Oʻahu UH campuses being planned

WHAT:

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Athletics Department brought the NCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship trophy across the UH Mānoa campus as a thank-you to students, faculty and staff for their support throughout the championship season.

The UH Mānoa men's volleyball team captured its third NCAA National Championship on May 11, defeating UC Irvine to bring another title home to Hawaiʻi.

Bachman Hall and Hawaiʻi Hall at the UH Mānoa campus

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Visits to UH West Oʻahu and all Oʻahu community college campuses are currently being planned.
  • The Athletics Department is also planning to make stops with the trophy on Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi and Maui later this year.
  • The tour is called the Our Team, Hawai'i's Team Trophy Tour.
  • The championship trophy tour will give the UH community an opportunity to celebrate the Rainbow Warriors' historic season while thanking students, faculty and staff for their support throughout the team's championship run.
