Named best health insurance company of 2026

We deliver preventive care that's proven to keep you healthy - and world-class treatment if you do get sick.

Our high-quality care and coverage have yet again earned us a top spot on Insure.com's 2026 Best Health Insurance Companies list.

It's the sixth year in a row that no health insurer in the nation has been rated higher than us.

High ratings for customer satisfaction and affordability

Insure.com reviewed and ranked 15 of the nation's largest health plan carriers.

To select the top health plans, Insure.com looked at industry data (for example, National Committee for Quality Assurance health plan ratings). The comparison website also surveyed 2,000 consumers. They were asked to name their insurer and then rate it in several categories, including:

  • The insurer's range of policy offerings
  • How much they trusted their insurer
  • How affordable the rates were
  • Whether they would renew their coverage
  • Their digital experience with the insurance company

Insure.com gave each company 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the best.

Kaiser Permanente received 4.42 stars, up from 4.17 last year, ranking us number one overall. In the consumer survey, we performed especially well in terms of customer satisfaction, ease of payment, and affordability.

"We at Kaiser Permanente are proud to be recognized again as the leading health insurance organization in the nation - for 6 consecutive years," said Brandon Cuevas, executive vice president, National Health Plan. "This recognition is a testament to the trust our members have in us and the responsibility we have to continuously advance excellence in quality, service, and affordability."
