Story Body

OLYMPIA - Today, Governor Bob Ferguson announced that Department of Enterprise Services Director Matt Jones is departing from his leadership position as leader of DES, effective today. To provide consistent leadership through the transition, Employment Security Department Commissioner Cami Feek will temporarily serve as director of DES.

Feek is a veteran public servant, with 30 years of state service. She was appointed ESD Commissioner by Governor Jay Inslee in 2021, and reappointed by Governor Ferguson in December 2024.

During this period, ESD Chief Operations Officer Martin McMurry will take on the role of interim ESD Commissioner.

Feek joined Employment Security in 2017 to design and stand up the state's Paid Family and Medical Leave program. Feek has served in numerous state agencies, including General Administration before it became the Department of Enterprise Services, and the Attorney General's Office. She has extensive experience building high functioning teams and cultures that center people and the communities they serve.
